A Salzburg day trip along the A8 — roughly 145 km each way — sits well within its range, and the car's refinement makes the motorway sections genuinely comfortable. If you're heading to a business meeting at Messe München or collecting guests from MUC Terminal 2, the Plaid projects a certain seriousness that combustion sedans struggle to match at this price point. The Model Y Long Range is the practical choice for families or small groups heading toward Neuschwanstein or Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Seven-seat configurations aside, this is about cargo space, high ride height for alpine approaches, and the kind of range that removes planning anxiety. For ski-season transfers toward Garmisch, confirm winter tyre fitment — alpine roads require them from November through April.
